CONDITIONS OF PLAY FOR

MEN’S CLUB HANDICAP SINGLES EVENTS

GENERAL

  1. The opponents in all games in KB&CC Men’s Handicap Singles events commence play on their handicap irrespective of whether both players in a match have similar handicaps.

 

  1. The intention is that both Handicap Singles events for male full playing members will be conducted as preseason events to be played in the Kingborough Indoor Bowls Centre, exclusively.

 

  1. Handicaps for both events will be determined by the BTS Saturday Pennant division in which each entrant in each event was a regular player during the previous BTS Pennant Season.

 

  1. The players in the final of each of the Handicap Singles events will wear club uniform, as will the marker.

 

 

KB&CC MEN’S 2-BOWL HANDICAP SINGLES CONDITIONS OF PLAY

  1. The KB&CC Men’s 2-Bowl Handicap Singles Championship is a consistency event.

 

  1. Each player is limited to two bowls from the same set of bowls.

 

  1. No penalties apply to 2-Bowl Singles.

 

  1. During any end of play, if the jack goes out of bounds on the rink of play the end is declared dead, and the end is replayed.

 

  1. The game is scored by recording the shots gained after the completion of each end.

 

  1. In all other regards a 2-Bowl Handicap Singles match is played under normal rules that would apply to any singles match.

 

  1. The winner of a game of 2-Bowl Handicap Singles is the player to first amass a total 25 shots up.

 

  1. Handicaps for KB&CC 2-Bowl Handicap Singles:

 

  1. Premier Division: -7 shots
  2. Division One : -6 shots
  3. Division Two     : -5 shots
  4. Division Three : -4 shots
  5. Division Four : -3 shots
  6. Division Five : -2 shots
  7. Division Six : -2 shots
  8. Division Seven : -1 shot
  9. Novice : Zero shots

 

 

KB&CC MEN’S 100UP HANDICAP SINGLES CONDITIONS OF PLAY

  1. The KB&CC Men’s 100Up Handicap Singles Championship event is a draw bowl event.

 

  1. Each player will play with four bowls from the same set of bowls.

 

  1. Players participating in a 100Up Handicap Singles match accumulates points and not shots.

 

  1. A penalty of minus 4 points is applied to a number of infractions (listed in Point 12 below), and are to be deducted from a player’s total score immediately the infraction occurs, and prior to the determination of any points to be allocated to each of the four bowls closest to the jack at the completion of the end.

 

  1. Winner of a KB&CC Men’s 100Up Handicap Singles match is the player who reaches a total of 100 points

 

  1. Only the four bowls closest to the jack at the conclusion of each end score points.

 

  1. Points are awarded in order of where each bowl finished in relation to the jack.

 

  1. A total of 10 points are available in each end completed.

 

  1. Points awarded to each bowl as follows:

 

  1. 4 points for the bowl closest to the jack;
  2. 3 points for the bowl that is second shot;
  3. 2 points for the bowl that is third shot; and
  4. 1 point for the bowl that is fourth shot.

 

  1. The points allocated to each bowl at the completion of each end are added to the player’s total score immediately the position of the bowl in relation to the jack is confirmed.

 

  1. At the completion of an end where it is possible for one or both players to amass 100 points then the allocation of points to each of the four bowls in order of closeness to the jack will cease as soon as the total score of one of the players reaches or passes 100 points in total. The match is concluded and no further points are allocated to either player.

 

  1. PENALTIES: A penalty of 4 points is deducted from a player’s total score immediately after one of the following infractions occur:

 

  1. The incorrect delivery of the jack, coming to rest:
  2. Less than 21 metres from the front of the mat;
  3. In the ditch; or
  • Out of bounds.
  1. The jack, in play, is moved by a bowl, and comes to rest out of bounds. This penalty applies to the player who delivered the bowl even if that bowl in its course caused a bowl of the opponent to set the jack in motion and then come to rest out of bounds.
  2. A player delivers a bowl that comes to rest out of bounds.
  3. A player delivers a bowl which comes to rest in the ditch, not having first touched the jack.

 

  1. There are no dead ends in 100Up Handicap Singles. If, during play, the jack comes to rest out of bounds the marker will re-spot the jack as close as possible to where the marker believes the jack was situated prior to being set in motion, and play will continue until the end is completed.

 

  1. Handicaps for KB&CC 100Up Singles:

 

  1. Premier Division : -15 points
  2. Division One : -13 points
  3. Division Two : -12 points
  4. Division Three : -10 points
  5. Division Four : -7 points
  6. Division Five : -6 points
  7. Division Six : -5 points
  8. Division Seven : -4 points
  9. Novice : Zero points
